1. Who we are
Drover ("Drover," "we," "us") provides connected TV (CTV) advertising technology, including a supply-side platform (SSP), demand-side platform (DSP) and ad server, to publishers, content creators, app owners, agencies and advertisers. Drover is based in Florida, United States.
2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle information collected through:
- Our website, drovertv.com, including our contact and demo request forms.
- Our advertising platform, which our business customers use to sell, buy and deliver ads on connected TVs, streaming apps and other digital media.
- Our business relationships, such as communications with customers, partners and vendors.
Our customers, such as publishers and advertisers, have their own privacy policies that govern how they collect and use information. We are not responsible for their practices.
3. Information from our website
Information you give us
When you request a demo or contact us, we collect what you enter, such as your name, company, work email, the type of business you're with, what you're interested in and any message you send.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our site and hosting provider automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring page and the date and time of your visit.
4. Information in our ad platform
To select, deliver and measure ads, our platform processes information about the devices and apps where ads are shown. This information generally comes from publishers, app owners and their partners through industry-standard ad requests, and from our own ad delivery. It may include:
- Device information, such as IP address, device type, operating system, user agent and advertising identifiers provided by the device or app (for example, a resettable TV or mobile advertising ID).
- Approximate location, such as country, region, city or postal code derived from an IP address. We do not seek precise GPS location.
- Content and app information, such as the app or channel, show, genre, content rating, time of day and ad break details.
- Ad activity, such as bid requests, bids, impressions, ad completions, clicks and other delivery and measurement events.
- Audience information that our customers or their partners choose to use for targeting, subject to their own notices and permissions.
We do not use the platform to collect names, email addresses or phone numbers from TV viewers. We do not knowingly process sensitive information, such as health or financial information, for ad targeting.
5. How we use information
- To run our platform: process ad requests, run auctions, select and deliver ads, and apply pacing, frequency caps and other campaign settings.
- To measure and report on ad delivery and performance, and to bill our customers.
- To detect and prevent fraud, invalid traffic, security incidents and misuse.
- To verify supply-chain information, such as ads.txt, app-ads.txt and sellers.json records.
- To respond to demo requests and inquiries, and to communicate with customers and prospects about our services.
- To maintain, improve and develop our website and services.
- To comply with law, enforce our agreements and protect the rights and safety of Drover, our customers and others.
6. How we share information
We do not sell the information you submit through our website. We share information only as needed to operate our business, including with:
- Customers and ad partners involved in an ad transaction, such as publishers, advertisers, agencies, exchanges and measurement and verification providers, as needed to buy, sell, deliver and measure ads.
- Service providers who host our website and platform, store data, send email or help us run our business, under contracts that limit how they use it.
- Legal and safety recipients, when required by law or legal process, or to protect rights, property or safety.
- A successor business, if Drover is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
Some U.S. state laws treat sharing information in digital advertising as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or as "targeted advertising." See Your choices and Your privacy rights for how to opt out.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses only the technology it needs to work, plus standard server logs from our hosting provider. Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google. Our ad platform may use device identifiers and similar technologies in apps and on connected TVs to deliver and measure ads.
8. Your choices
- Device settings. Most connected TVs, streaming devices and phones let you reset your advertising ID or limit ad tracking in their privacy settings. When a device signals that ad tracking is limited, we honor that signal.
- Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising.
- Email. You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails using the link in any email.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Florida and other U.S. states, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Appeal our decision on your request.
To make a request, email privacy@drovertv.com. Because our platform usually works with device identifiers rather than names, we may ask you for your device's advertising ID so we can find the right records. We will verify requests as the law allows and will not discriminate against you for using your rights. An authorized agent may submit a request for you with proof of authority.
10. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, such as running and billing campaigns, preventing fraud and meeting legal obligations, and then delete or de-identify it. Ad delivery logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
Our website and services are meant for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where state law sets that age, and we do not knowingly use such information for targeted advertising. Contact us if you believe we have.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If changes are significant, we will give additional notice where required.
